Editing
Project editing and management: I have many years’ experience of creating magazines, from initial concept right through contributor liaison, image selection, sub-editing, design and proofing – so I’m able to manage the process from start to finish. I have also recruited, trained and managed an editorial team, commissioned freelancers, kept to tight budgets, devised marketing strategies and worked closely with an advertising department to maximize revenue.
Subbing and production: I have extensive experience of re-writing dull copy, coming up with snappy titles and sells, and altering text to ensure it complies with house style. My proofreading is accomplished – thanks to a pedantic streak. I am also experienced in design direction, making sure that the finished product is ‘on brand’.
